I strive to eclipse the ugliness of the everyday and celebrate beauty, grace, memory, joy, and connection

Jennifer McGregor is a Canadian artist known for her elegant watercolour paintings and poured acrylic works on panel that show off magical, translucent colour.

McGregor’s works provide an optimistic space for visual exploration. Although not landscape-driven, these abstracted forms tend to appear as if they are imaginary worlds for viewers. Natural patterning, organic forms, and stimulating colour are all paramount in McGregor’s work, which takes an interdisciplinary approach as she explores her ideas through media such as acrylic on panel, watercolour on paper, ceramic and glass sculpture.

Born and raised in rural Alberta, McGregor began her career in design before attending the Ontario College of Art and Design (now OCAD University) majoring in Drawing and Painting. After three years in Florence, Italy, she returned to Toronto in 2006 where she currently lives and paints. Her paintings are in corporate and private collections throughout North America, Europe, and India.
